FINDING AND CUSTOMIZING PROTOCOLS
Protocols allows you to save all signal adjustments and settings as the defaults for future sessions.

Applications come with several pre-set protocols.

You can also modify an existing protocol, or make your own protocols.
Select a PROTOCOL.
Highlight a protocol in the middle window.
Make sure it conforms to your goal for that session.
Read the bottom Text Box for information and hints for use.
OK? Click on IMPORT to activate that protocol.

NOTE: Only use EXPORT if you are making a new protocol. Do not overwrite an old protocol until you are very experienced with making your own protocols.

You can also modify an existing protocol, or make your own protocols.
PROTOCOLS:  Make sure there are no false signals added to your feedback conditions.

SIDEBAR: RECALL AND SAVE CLIENT SETTINGS IS NOT PART OF SAVING PROTOCOLS

NOTE: Do not confuse exporting (saving) protocols  with saving an individual client's settings. Client settings are another kind of saved set of settings and are found in another window. Physiolab allows you to recall all the settings from a Client's last session. If a specific client was selected before the start of the session, one set of settings may be saved to the client file.  He way to save a Clients session is found on the Exit Menu.

Import/Export (Recall/Save) Protocols aka Signal Settings

The Import Settings button   brings up the Save Settings Window which allows you to save all signal adjustments and settings as the defaults for future sessions.  These are called PROTOCOLS.

Some applications come with several pre-set protocols. To recall a protocol and make it work on this application, click on the Name, read the Notes to make sure this is the protocl you want, and press IMPORT. Then press EXIT.

You can also modify an existing protocol, or make your own protocols. First Exit a protocl, and set up the signals in your application - thresholds, feedback on/off, and for EEG bands, frequency ranges and amount of Band Signal Averaging.  click the Settings Icon,. On the Export Settings Button, enter a name and some notes. Then press EXPORT. This saves the protocol into a Folder called 'Saved Settings' found in the  Program files\USE3 PLUS\SavedSettings   folder. Then click EXIT.

NOTE:  Many setting combinations may be saved for each application.  To recall a previously saved protocol, click the Settings Icon button to pull up this window, select the name of the protocol from the  list , and click Import.

You can also delete a protocol using the delete button. Once deleted the only way to recall a protocol is to reinstall the application. Be sure to back up your new saved settings protocls before re-installing. Any NEW exports may be  erased during re-installation. Do the same with your data.mdb file - be sure to back up and archieve BEFORE any re-installation. Better save than sorry.

Finally, use the same naming convention fo each new EXPORTED SETTINGS FILE.  You can share protocols over the internet. All you need to do is find the protocol you want in the Saved Settings folder (see above). Physiolab is smart enough to keep all the protocols form all applications in one mega-folder. That means all EEG, EMG and HRV protocls share the same folder. Each file is internally coded to an application, so Physiolab will always show porotocols linked to a single application. However if you plan to share protocols you need to name your protocl so that you can find it and send it as an attachment. In the example above, all protocols start with 'CardioPilot' so they can be detected in a file manager and attached for email updates. (Also note the numbers 01, 02 etc. The numbers link to second monitor screens, so each protocol has its own set of feedback screens. you may want to use a similar coding so a new user can find which screen goes wtih your new protocol.)
