Skin Conductance
Use the Dual Sensor Y-Cable-Temperature and Skin Resistance
MC-6SY
Skin Resistance is detected by two velcro-banded electrodes, one for each finger. The Green Finger Sensor is also a Ground wire for EEG, EMG and ECG applications.
A set of finger Sensors is included. We recommend buying at least two back-up velcro electrode sets, as they are renewable resources.
This cable is included with the purchase of an Instrument.
Skin Conductance and Skin Resistance Feedback
Skin Resistance is a sensitive measure signalling small changes in arousal which trigger successful feedback.
AuotThreshold is on: The feedback threshold is automatically adjusted every 0.5 seconds. You do not need to adjust this threshold.
ABOVE T./ BELOW T. :
Below T.: A tone will signal successful feedback whenever the signal drops below the last threshold value for 0.5 sec.
To change this, toggle to Above T.
Above T.: A tone will now signal successful feedback whenever the signal rises above the last threshold value for 0.5 sec.
TYPE OF FEEDBACK: This type of feedback is Differential Signal Feedback. It provides information about differential or change-based aspects of the signal, not the absolute value of the signal.

* In the Sensor Test screen, Skin Resistance is somtimes used to test signal quality because it is a more sensitive measurement and because it is the signal directly measured by the instrument. Skin Conductance is a mathematically derived value, basically the inverse of Resistance.
The scale for all Skin Resistance signals is in KOhms.
For Skin Conductance displays the scale is in MicroMhos.
* SR/SC IMPEDANCE 'BOUNCING': During EMG/ECG/EEG impedance testing,if the SC sensors are applied properly, you may sometimes see a 'bouncing' of the SR (Skin Resistance} or SC) signal on the SR Bar Graph. This is only seen in the first screen, Impedance.
This is normal and is due to a change in interference from the impedance testing function across the skin. This does not effect your ability to evaluate the impedance level signal quality. This interference is not present in any of the non-impedance feedback screens (because impedance testing is only a function of the Sensor Test Screen).
